Course Restrictions
The agreements covers courses at Clark School of Engineering and the College of Computer, Mathematical and Natural Science. Graduate courses within the College of Engineering will generally also be available, for students who meet the prerequisites, with the exception for courses within entrepreneurship and telecommunications. Graduate courses in other areas of the university, will most likely not be available.

Students are expected to take at least 50% of their courses within their corresponding major at UMD. Students must meet prerequisites and in some cases permission from the department. Some departments limit the number of courses a student can take per semester (for instance, Computer Science only allows students to take 2 courses per semester). Please see this page for more information: https://globalmaryland.umd.edu/offices/education-abroad/academics.

DTU also has a separate agreement for students interested in taking undergraduate courses within Computer Science - see more here.

Min. GPA
Our experience with this partner is that they are not able to accept students with a GPA below 6.0 (Danish grading scale). If your GPA does not meet this requirement, you will therefore not be able to be selected for this partner. For the most realistic GPA cut, we refer to the min. expected GPA above.

All university athletics (basketball, football, soccer, etc.) are free to attend. Students may join club or intramural sports.

Undergraduates are guaranteed on-campus housing as long as they complete the application by the deadline. Resident Life offers traditional dormitories, suites, and apartment style housing. Students who live on campus and do not have a kitchen are required to have a dining plan.

Financial Considerations

As an exchange student, you will not have to pay tuition for your semester abroad. That being said, North America will in many cases be a rather expensive place to study abroad, since a) insurance costs will usually be higher than at other destinations and b) there may be administrative fees at the university. The administrative fees and insurance usually amounts to between 500 and 1000 US Dollars per semester.

If you are concerned about your financial situation, it is worth considering other regions where the expenses will be lower.
