Course Restrictions

DTU recommends that you apply for exchange at this partner university, only if you are flexible with your course choice.

Our experience is that the courses listed in the course lists sent to DTU are not necessarily the offer once students arrive in Mexico, and students should be prepared to find new courses upon arrival  - and they should be prepared to be flexible in their course choice.

In general, course availability is subject to student interest, enrollment, pre-requisites and limitations stated in the bilateral agreement between the two universities. Therefore, DTU students might not be able to choose from or be granted access to all courses offered by the host university. Some faculties, departments, schools, study programs and courses might be restricted from exchange students. Please be aware that the course offer at the host institution may vary from year to year.

MSc-students at DTU have to choose, if they wish to be admitted as Master level coures and take ONLY Master courses, or if they wish to be admitted as bachelor level students and take ONLY bachelor level courses at advanced undergraduate level (numbered 3000+) as they can usually be transferred to DTU as if they were MSc courses.

It is NOT possible to mix courses between bachelor and master level.

MSc students who wish to take courses in English can only go to Monterrey Campus (except for students from Technology Entrepreneurship with bachelor´s degree in Business and who wish to take Business courses at Graduate programme at Tec).

To find course descriptions: Google ITESM + the course code of relevant course (e.g. ITESM BT4005) in that order.

NB: Credit conversion: Tec has recently changed their education structure including a new credit system (36 credits = 60 ECTS). Be aware that the course decriptions found on Tec´s website are often still referring to the old credit system (96 credits = 60 ECTS).
